Review

I wouldn’t say that this book is sophisticated — taking into mind the claim in the author’s biography. However, if you do put in place the situation and the trajectory of the story… well, whatever !

There isn’t much to say about this book aside from that I enjoyed it. It’s a short story so it is pretty straight forward. It followed a lovely couple who’re both swamped by work. In turn, their relationship suffered from it. And being a human, they can be rather clingy and needs attention.

The choice of scenario was really great. It was relatable — or at least if you already know the life of a working person — and gave that strong connection as you’re reading it. Both of the characters were lovely and didn’t feel 2D. Their connection was fantastic as well. They know each other enough to understand that their current situation is something that they cannot control, but still comes out pouty in the end. I mean, who isn’t like that ? You’re too mature and serious for this world.

Overall, Rx for Sex did what it was intended to do. It was short, refreshing, and entertaining. The end part of the book was absolutely adorable as well and it makes you want to read more of the authors work.

About the Author

Bru Baker writes sophisticated gay romantic fiction with strong characters, real-world problems, and plenty of humor.

Bru spent fifteen years writing for newspapers before making the jump to fiction. She now balances her time between writing and working at a Midwestern library in the reference department. Whether it’s creating her own characters or getting caught up in someone else’s, there’s no denying that Bru is happiest when she’s engrossed in a story. She and her husband have two children, which means a lot of her books get written from the sidelines of various sports practices.
