Top 5 Wednesday: Rereads

Welcome to another Top 5 Wednesday!

This week's topic is all about Rereads!

I am not really a re-reader but I have my fair share of books that I have picked up for the second time. And if I am to pick something up again really soon, it would be these books!

Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage by Haruki Murakami

Starting off with the book I’ve loved yet given the lowest rating of 3*.

The Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki is a wonder that I found at a young age when I did not know how to take anything slowly; hence, the low rating. I believe that this book requires the appreciation of taking things slow. To really digest the “pilgrimage” within the story.

I am eager to give this another go for despite what star review I have given it, this book saw me. It was there when I needed it. I saw an undeniable bond with it that no other book could have given me at the time and I loved Murakami for it.

Always and forever, The Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki will have a special place in my heart.

Call Me by Your Name by André Aciman

Call Me By Your Name is a book that provides me a magnificent sort of tranquility. It calls out to my younger self.

The novel may be unappealing for people who disagrees with the path the author chose, but I felt it. The dissonance of your juvenile soul. The ruination. The love that was there yet wasn’t.

A story that calls out to me like when the sky embraces the earth with rain, this book is something I’d love to journey through again.

The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

One of the most interesting books I have read when I was in college, The Time Traveler’s Wife is many beautiful things.

A certain kind of magic lives within the depths of this book. And the only way to relive it is by rereading it.

Lord of the Flies by William Golding

If I am being honest, I would gladly pick up any classic book I have read just to discover a beauty that I was not able to find from it the first time I have read it.

Given that there are too many, I’m choosing to only feature Lord of the Flies for now since it is one of my all-time favourite classic.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

And, of course, it would not be complete if I did not feature my most favourite author in a list where rereading is involved.

From the list of works she has, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue is probably the one I have the strongest urge to pick up again. There are many a great things in this book that can only be fully appreciated the second—or, maybe, the third—time around.
