Top 5 Wednesday: Underrated Authors

Bonjour à tous !

We are back with another TOP 5 WEDNESDAY prompt! This week, it's all about underrated authors! Exciting!

This is a very difficult prompt, in all honesty. I wanted to put in so many authors, but you know...limitations make for a good reason not to.

Anyway, here are my Underrated Authors! Shady looks aside, yes I am going to have one...or, yeah, maybe two or three special mentions in here as well. Who can blame me? I just want them to have more recognition for their work!

Michele Amitrani

One of the very few authors that never disappoints me with his work, Michele Amitrani is truly an author to look out for. He has an amazing and engrossing writing. He continually improves himself by doing short stories and although not all of them are my cuppa, they’re definitely fantastic reads!

If you’re looking to add a new SFF author in your list, give Amitrani’s novels a try!

Thomas Welsh

Another SFF author, Thomas Welsh has yet to produce plenty of novels; however, those which are out in the market is truly something to indulge into.

‘Anna Undreaming,’ the first book in his The Metiks Fade Trilogy has a marvelous concept. I find it unique and fresh; although, I wouldn’t recommend the book to people who cannot appreciate slow pacing. The novel can be dragging and despite it’s allure, it might be bore inducing to people. But if you’re up for a challenge, then pick the book up, enjoy it, and let me know your thoughts!

Kevin Brooks

An extremely peculiar author, Kevin Brooks is a writer of mostly children’s and young adult novels. BUT, do not be fooled by him! His novels, despite its target audience, is actually quite macabre and deep.

The market for his books makes it such an easily digestible story; however, the underlying themes of his works are fascinatingly brilliant.

If you’re into trying some macabre reads that is accessible, then he is the one for you! I highly recommend his book ‘The Bunker Diary’.

Chantal Gadoury

Chantal Gadoury has produced many a novel but one thing is for sure, she loves romance! Long story short, if you’re looking for romance, YA author then she’s someone to consider.

I really enjoyed her book ‘The Songs in our Heart.’ She incorporated music into her novel and I find that really enjoyable. It gives you a certain level of relationship not only to the story, but it provides an understanding of who the characters are.

Danielle Koste

Oh I cannot tell you how much I appreciated her novel “What the Flower Says of Death!”

She is definitely someone special and I think she has an amazing career ahead of her if she gets to a wider audience. I wouldn’t say that her writing is the most beautiful, but she has a way with playing around her story and characters.

Special Mention

R.J. Garcia

Jacqueline E. Smith

Jeremy Ray
