Review
I don’t think there is much to say about this book considering its popularity.
You’ll have seen it in a myriad of Youtube videos and blog posts—especially those that have a strong focal on productivity. I, for one, have seen it while procrastinating, looking for “how not to procrastinate videos.” I have seen it initially from Thomas Frank and, recently, have rediscovered it from Ali Abdaal.
The book was brilliant in setting up its message—bringing forth relatable situation of stories from not only the author but from other people. It provides us with the comfort that even the most successful people are bound for failure. Despite that, it doesn’t stop them from their endeavour to achieve their goals. Additionally, the use of statistical data and graphs really catches reader’s attention. It gave a concrete example and a numerical value to the information that can both be surprising and inspiring.
Overall, I enjoyed reading this book. It was well executed and the way the information was presented as a combination of factual information, relatable stories, and helpful tips has really worked well for me.
