Jujutsu Kaisen, Vol.9 Review

In a world where cursed spirits feed on unsuspecting humans, fragments of the legendary and feared demon Ryomen Sukuna have been lost and scattered about. Should any demon consume Sukuna’s body parts, the power they gain could destroy the world as we know it. Fortunately, there exists a mysterious school of Jujutsu Sorcerers who exist to protect the precarious existence of the living from the supernatural!

Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto have been assigned a mission to escort the Star Plasma Vessel to Master Tengen. When they’re ambushed by Toji Fushiguro, a mercenary known as the Sorcerer Killer, will Gojo and Geto survive? And will this be the turning point where Gojo becomes the world's strongest exorcist while Geto embraces a life of ruin and rebellion?

REVIEW

A lot of events happened in this volume; however, the most important aspect of it—at least, in my opinion—is how it showed us just how powerful Gojo is.

It didn’t just showcase Gojo’s powers, though. It also gave an ample information on the other important characters within the story and the eventual turnaround of the story as presented within this volume due to these catalysts. There is a huge revelation within this volume as well that proved te capacity of Mahito’s powers. Goes to show how much details Akutami-sensei puts in each of the characters in his story.

Honestly, I’m just surprised each of them can still be vulnerable despite their overpowered nature. Normally, there is always an overpowered character (if you watch enough anime) and I do think most, if not all, of the characters in Jujutsu Kaisen are overpowered to some extent. And yeah, I do believe that if everybody is aware of how powerful they can be, they can basically end the story pretty quickly. But who wants that, right?

The playfulness of Akutami-sensei towards the progression of his story is amazing. He really knows how to manipulate his story to retain a level of curiousity for their readers to stay without being overpowering or underwhelming them to a bore.
