REVIEW
“You’re a strong kid, so help people. It doesn’t have to be all the time. Just whenever you can. You may feel lost. Don’t expect gratitude. Just help them.”
Jujutsu Kaisen, volume 1 is a great introduction to the world of jujutsu sorcerers. The story follows a young man, Itadori Yuuji, who seems to have a peculiar affinitive strength against a very powerful curse. Although it isn’t without caveats, of course.
I enjoyed reading this story. It was entrancing despite it’s simplistic approach to art. The action combined with the humour worked well in holding your attention as you get lite and heavy topics hand-in-hand. Additionally, the flow of the story really gives you a feeling that identifies itself that this book is just a beginning of an awesome adventure.
There was plenty of questions within the story that you’d want answers to. And, I think, that is also a part of why you’ll get hooked into reading the manga series. Add to that, the pacing is quick yet it didn’t remove any excitement from the tensions between both the protagonist and antagonist’ parties and the friendly banter within themselves.
I am very curious to know what happens next. Moreover, as much as I am excited to see more actions , I am strongly awaiting the unravelling of all the characters’ backstory. Yes, I do have my favourites, but nevertheless, I want to know more about them.
If you are a lover of fast-paced fantasy story full of action, then Jujutsu Kaisen is a perfect addition to you reading list. It has good magical elements, fantastic characters, and interesting villains with well made motivational goals that really collides with who you’d want to support in the story.
