The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue Review

A Life No One Will Remember. A Story You Will Never Forget.

France, 1714: in a moment of desperation, a young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets.

Thus begins the extraordinary life of Addie LaRue, and a dazzling adventure that will play out across centuries and continents, across history and art, as a young woman learns how far she will go to leave her mark on the world.

But everything changes when, after nearly 300 years, Addie stumbles across a young man in a hidden bookstore and he remembers her name.

Review

A story as refined as a finely aged wine; The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue will make you feel a rainbow of feelings.

The story’s progression is a well curated cadence of steps that slowly dances in your mouth. It leaves a taste that lingers and sways you to drunkenness—leaving you wanting for more.

As it takes its time brewing that lustful sensation in your mouth, it arrives at a crescendo of quick beats. These sudden outburst of melody excites your sensation but at the same time, it forces you to crave for that slow and steady rhythm of the earlier parts of the choreograph.

In its entirety, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue is a measure closely similar to that of a rollercoaster. It builds up your excitement as it takes you to a leisurely stroll in the raw and beautifully painful life of Adeline LaRue. It takes its time before in plunges you into a twisting chaos. And while you are unknowingly holding your breath, you reach a climatic end that will pull you back to your own reality.

One thing that I find rather unfitting for my taste was how the ending was concluded, but there is so much more to say about this book than how it ended.

The writing is fabulously written with each jumping timelines that are made well like hands that fit to one another; the characters are a delightful reality to uphold and their unique personalities made them extremely beautiful; and the setting of the story makes it so that the journey was nothing but a delectable course of meals to enjoy.
